The Slough location is home to the UK Sales Organisation who work in conjunction with the Product Business Units to sell products to wide variety of customers.

As an Outside Sales Engineer - Emergency Lighting Division , your primary responsibility is to drive sales growth and revenue within your defined region. You'll play a vital role in growing our business and expanding our customer base. Your success will be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined each year by our team leadership, both on a team level and an individual level in the form of Key Results, such as Sales Targets, Prospecting Targets, Customer Facing Activity Targets, CRM Data Accuracy Targets, Action Plan Completion Targets, New Product Introduction Adoption Targets, Personal Development Goals, Prioritizing Customers based on potential ROI, CRM Customer Interaction Tracking.

What you’ll do:

Job Responsibilities:

• Shifting the focus of your sales conversations from the price of our solutions to the value that you and Eaton can bring, by seeking to understand the specific needs and pain points of your customers and demonstrating how you can uniquely address those needs and provide tangible value.

• Being accountable for and building your individual sales strategy & action plan for short- and long-term sales success in the territory, and executing that plan through networking with end users, consultants and appropriate contractors managing your opportunity pipeline to achieve sales budgets across target market sectors (Commercial, Industrial, Stadiums, Transport & Education to name a few).

• Providing weekly forecast reports to management and tracking progress toward KPIs

• Collaborating with sales, marketing, product and other support functions to develop and implement sales strategies, building and maintaining relationships with customers, understanding their needs and requirements, providing them with value-based solutions and addressing any questions or concerns.

• Being motivated by continuous improvement and striving to constantly exceed customer expectations.

• Keeping up to date on industry trends and market conditions and adapting your sales strategies accordingly.

• Being data-driven, able to understand data, draw conclusions and make recommendations on how we should adapt based on what we are seeing.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering background, preferably electrical / electronical engineering is needed.

Skills:

  • Being familiar with relevant products, markets, and customers (company demographics, pain points, goals, decision-making processes, key stakeholders, and communication preferences

  • Having a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, CRM, PowerBI, Internet search engines, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Outlook.

  • Having a capability of analyzing competitors' product offerings and features, strengths and weaknesses, pricing strategies, and market share.

  • Being able to establish an Eaton knowledge strategy, company demographics, relevant marketing/customer service/pricing/supply chain processes, and our New Product Introduction process

  • Being familiar with industry standards and regulations

  • An understanding of Electrical principles/background would be beneficial but not critical.
