Business Unit Introduction - [HM or Recruiter to select the correct BU and delete the rest] Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will lead our dedicated team in the development of a state-of-the-art motor controller for use in space cryo-cooling applications. As the team lead, you will apply your deep expertise in electronics engineering and your knowledge of motor control systems to direct the full lifecycle of product development-from initial concept design to final production. This multifaceted role requires a balance of technical skills to tackle hands-on engineering challenges and leadership acumen to guide and encourage a small, niche team. You will be instrumental in setting design goals, defining schedules, and ensuring that development stays on track and meets all performance criteria. This position calls for an innovative problem-solver with a dedication to producing outstanding results that is looking to push the boundaries of avionics for use in -space for the benefit of mankind. Special Mentions Relocation provided Travel expected up to 10% of the time Interviews will include a technical assessment Position is onsite Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serve as component owner for motor controller avionics component, taking full responsibility from concept through deployment. Own the end-to-end development cycle, including design, prototyping, testing, and production readiness. Provide leadership and direction to a small team of electronics engineers, facilitating a collaborative and high-performing environment. Utilize electronics design experience, to mentor/coach team and provide sound technical solutions. Individually contribute supporting circuit card designs, performing schematic capture, PWB layout, circuit simulations, etc. Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Full development cycle experience Relevant circuit design expertise, mixed signal, power electronics, motor controllers, etc Experience with lab test equipment 5+ years in industry developing high reliability avionics Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications M.S. in Electrical Engineering or greater Multiple product development experience Developed products for in-space environments Experience with BLDC motor controls and high power electronics Experience with design for high voltage applications Prior small team leadership experience Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $136,800-$191,520 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
