We’re hiring a General Manager in Denver!

The Assistant General Manager oversees kitchen operations, front of house service, the continued development and growth of your team, and the overall profitability of your shop. The AGM is always guest-, food-, and team-focused, while being a quick thinker, a problem-solver, a skilled communicator, and a motivator. As an AGM, you will work directly with the General Manager and kitchen supervisors to ensure important responsibilities are completed and all team members are held accountable for their performance and product output through our CYM Values (“VIBES”). You will lead all team members and keep the shops buzzing – having fun while creating an incredible dining experience for our guests.

The AGM is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations at their location during their shifts, and is the acting manager when the General Manager is not present. The AGM works directly with the General Manager to ensure daily tasks are completed and team members are fully prepared for their shifts. This role will lay the groundwork for a future General Manager. You will lead our FOH team and keep the shops buzzing – having fun while creating a great dining experience for guests.

A day in the life of an AGM at CYM:

  • Oversee daily operations of your restaurant -- from preparing the shop to open, executing service, to closing; all at the highest level

  • Proactively solving any problems that arise and always taking initiative to keep the restaurant running at its best, most efficient capacity

  • Manage and lead FOH and kitchen supervisors (if applicable) and team members to ensure the best service is provided to our guests with CYM VIBES in mind

  • Work with fellow your General Manager and other leads to create a positive, efficient work environment for the whole team

  • Supporting Call Your Mother’s high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team members to the provided checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools

  • Assist in managing maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and the shop’s surroundings -- trash pick ups, linens, deep cleaning and/or storage organization

  • Continued focus on all food safety standards and commitment to shop safety

  • Assist in overseeing food and beverage management, including inventory, ordering, and budget with regard to food, beverage and labor goals

  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluation of team members

  • Assist with scheduling so that each shift and position is covered at its best ability.  If there is an issue (call-outs, emergency), the AGM would have left the team with the resources need to complete the shift to the highest CYM standard the manager is on-call to solve it in the best interest of the shop

  • Working in the shop 5 days a week (at least one of which is a Saturday or a Sunday)

    You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:

  • Have 1-2 years experience in a restaurant management role

  • Have a basic understanding of: P&L, COGS, decision making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, training & team development, food quality standards

  • Have ServeSafe Manager’s Food Safety Certification

  • Can coordinate multiple tasks such as food and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily shop activities

  • Are hospitality-oriented and hold a passion for the guest experience

  • Believe in a hands-on managing style and be willing to lead by example

  • Take initiative, you’re proactive, and can think of the big picture

  • Have high-energy, positive can-do attitude that thrives in fast-paced environment

  • Treat others with kindness and respect

  • Are a team player and always willing to help others

  • Work calmly and effectively under pressure; seek to solve problems

  • Communicate clearly and efficiently; Proven coaching and leadership skills for a diverse staff 

  • Can work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and holidays.

  • Competitive base salary: $65,000 and a 20% quarterly bonus opportunity
